Ambrish Yadav
Ambrish was born and brought up in Bombay/Pune. He was already attracted to electronic music in his early years even though the electronic dance scene in India wasn’t really mature. Constantly searching for tapes and CDs, he finally built up a good collection to start DJing for local parties in Pune. He started his professional DJ career in 1995 where he played at countless locations and events in Pune.
In 2001, when he first moved to Cologne to pursue his career, he was exposed to a vast genre of electronic music and soon got addicted to asian underground, drum n bass and minimal techno. Although he is an IT professional, he still managed to keep DJing as a hobby and played at various events in Köln to promote the asian underground scene and to promote masala-movement’s concept and vision.
Ambrish decided to take a step further with his music by starting some of his own productions and quickly got addicted to minimal techno.
His solo projects are often a mix of electronic downtempo beats with Indian classical elements. You can find out more about this on www.myspace.com/ambrish. He currently has releases on ChillOm Records, a record label based in India.
His minimal techno projects are often a collaboration with his old friend Pawas, who he has known since his younger days in India. Coincidently they both live in Cologne and often have sessions together which now have evolved into quality tracks and will soon be released on vinyl. Their project is called low volume.
