Paulina Quintana Jornet was born in Santiago de Chile in 1982. As a child, she had lived in exile in Buenos Aires for half a year, before she and her family went to stay in the Jena, on the territory of the former GDR. Quintana Jornet has been living in Berlin since she was 16 where she found the possibilities and chance to constantly evolve her artistic skills in illustration.
In 2007 the Goethe Institue Zimbabwe presented some of her work as part of an exhibition on graffiti. After a two-year stay in South America, Quintana Jornet is now back in Berlin where she is currently about to graduate in communication design.
As an artist, she longs to visualize her distant memories in order to being able to define her own identity. Although the latter is not neccessarily based on nationality, it became evident again and again that Quintana Jornet is deeply rooted in latin American cultures. Her projects nevertheless present traces of European influences – mainly through the very clear, defined and particularly grafic style.

Paulina Quintana Jornet wurde 1982 in Santiago Chile geboren. Nach einem sechsmonatigen Exilaufenthalt in Buenos Aires siedelte sie im Kindesalter mit ihrer Familie in die damalige DDR nach Jena. Seit ihrem 16. Lebensjahr wohnt Quintana Jornet in Berlin, wo sie die Möglichkeit hatte ihre künstlerischen Fähigkeiten im Bereich Illustration stetig auszubauen.
2007 präsentierte das Goethe-Institut einige ihrer Arbeiten im Rahmen einer Graffitiausstellung in Zimbabwe. Nach einem zweijährigen Aufenthalt in Südamerika lebt sie nun wieder in der Hauptstadt und diplomiert derzeit im Fach Kommunikationsdesign.
Mit ihren Bildern möchte die Künstlerin ihre entfernten Erinnerungen visualisieren und somit ihre eigene Identität definieren können. Obwohl diese nicht auf Nationalität basieren soll, wird immer wieder deutlich, dass Quintana Jornets Wurzeln tief in der Kultur Lateinamerikas verankert sind. Dennoch weisen ihre Arbeiten europäische Spuren auf – vor allem durch den klaren, definierten und vor allem grafischen Stil.
